error while installing vista

when it get to "expanding files (6%) I get the error message " an error occured while preparing windows setup to boot into teh next stage of setup" and it stops installing! What is wrong?
My computer Dell dinemsino 2400 I GB ram 2.8 ghz celeron. getting ready for vista system scan tells me my computer is readuy for the up grade!

Could be corrupt iso/ bad dvd..
But do check the setup*.log. You should find them at root of one of the partitions in $WINDOWS* or $*... directory..

The $windows Directory install log only shows my last install for win Xp back in dec and the only error shows as non fatal....I even treid to boot from the DVD to install and just get the errror message " An error occured while installing...etc.etc..."
Should I notify MS of a bug or try to get them to send me another set of DVDs?

I even tried to boot from the DVD and still got the message"an error occured while installing setup will now close " or something simular.
Should I notify MS of a BUG or what do I do to get them to send me another set of DVDs if this one is bad?
The $windows directory setup log shows only one error ( non fatal) during setup in December of XP I see no setup log for the VISTA
